I have been comtemplating my "Rainmaker" status for a month or two. We've had a drought in Austin, TX all summer and saying it's "bone dry" is an understatement. Well, now it has been raining all day and I decided to get off the fence (taking my own advice... I've been telling it to buyers for months and months - time to do it myself!).
What better way to kick off my ActiveRain blog than on a rainy day!?! I'm looking forward to a long, meaningful existence in the "Rain" community. I have already benefited from the contributions of other members. I am ready to learn more and give as much as I can!
The business of real estate, whatever your role or profession, is rewarding in more ways that I could have realized. I "found my way" into the business as I neared graduating from college (a friend talked me into getting my license when I had a change of heart about law school). I tell him I'm in his debt everytime I see him. I've worked on difficult transactions early in my career. The ones where people tell you... "it's a great learning experience" (they also make you want to crawl under a rock and hide!). But the gratitude I receive from my clients is what has kept me in the business during these difficult times. I look forward to what lies further down the line.
As Willie Nelson might say... the hardest part of writing a blog is the first entry. Well, now that's over!

It didn't just rain today, it's been POURING! It sprinkled a few dropps yesterday and this morning, and then everything just let loose like someone popped an inflatable hot tub!
Yes, the down pours have been GREAT! I hope these rain clouds stick around for another week or two! I actually enjoyed wiping the mud off my dog's feet!
Will...
Good for you. Personally, I've always found sitting on the fence to be quite painful :)
TLW...ROAR!
Consider this my welcome to the world of RainMakers gift :)
TLW...ROAR!
Will, thanks for joining in. As one of the older Realtors still in this business, it is great to see that younger folks are going "all in". Thought a little Texas Hold'em imagery was called for.
Welcome and now that the ice is broken don't delay and post lots of content. Its great for business! And its lots of fun!
TLW, awesome!!!!! Way to go Will and I look forward to seeing more of you. Don't wait till it rains in the future!!!
Will... welcome to the rain. You'll make an excellent addition to the community. I look forward to reading great things from you.
TLW... great song! Thanks for gift!

Will,
Welcome to the AR community! You will gain a lot by asking what your clients want to read about. It's a good ice breaker discussion at community events, too. Have fun!
Congratulations Will! Now that you are off of that painful fence, as TLW said, I hope you will have many years of the same kinds of experiences that I have had. You have much to look forward to here in the rain! Keep writing and commenting and everything else will fall into place!
Nice to have you join us - and glad to hear that it is raining, somewhere. Living in a coastal desert makes for a painfully long fire season and with three major fires in my area in the last 12 months, I say, Bring on the rain!
Looking forward to your blogs...
Kathleen
Welcome, you will love it here. Its like grad school there is so much to learn
Hi Will...Welcome to the Rain. Nothing but sunny days ahead for you no matter the weather.

Welcome to the "Rain" where "RainMakers" dwell! Let us know if you need anything at all, there's a whole community of support, and alot of search engines, members, and consumers waiting for more content. This was a great first post! Congrats on your feature. :-)
Hi Will ~ Welcome Aboard! you couldn't have picked a better place to start your blogging "career". I upgraded to Rainmaker status at the end of July, so I'm not exactly an old hand myself. The good news is, it does work. My posts are ranking well and I've even had a couple of people contact me this week with questions - It's all good, you made a great decision.
Denise
